In 1999 the village of Beck Row together with Holywell Row, Kenny Hill and Burnt Fen formed its own Parish Council. Prior to this date, the villages had been represented by elected members on the Mildenhall Parish Council. The formation of a separate Parish Council followed eight years of discussion and negotiation with the population, Mildenhall Parish Council, Forest Heath District Council and the Boundary Commission.

Several years prior to the formation of the Parish Council, the Beck Row Community Association was created to reflect the interests and wishes of local inhabitants. The Association was – and is – made up of representatives from local clubs and organisations that are constantly busy. As the result of many years of fund-raising events and a weekly Lottery the Community Centre was built adjoining the Primary School. The building is now regularly used as a meeting place and serves as a focal point for village, school and private events.

News time.....

We are intending to use this site as an Electronic Village Notice Board.

We invite all schools, clubs, organisations and individuals to use the site to inform people what you are organising so that they can participate.

You may be an organisation looking for new members or have spare seats on a coach trip, you could be a team looking for new players ie Pool, Darts, Cricket, Football, Rugby. You could be looking for like minded people to start a new club or perhaps a musician looking to start a Village Band !!  You may just want to advertise an event you are organising like a Fete or Open Day.

We also have a new Parish Council Face book page.

Please e mail your items to: beckrowparishcouncil@tesco.net but remember that the event must be one that ALL the Parish can participate in and we reserve the right to exclude items we deem unacceptable.

Please support this initiative.......Thank you.
